🚨HIGH RISKcriminal

In July 2015, the DOJ indicted Rep. Chaka Fattah Sr. (D-Philadelphia) and four associates on racketeering charges. The indictment charged that Fattah and his co-conspirators used multiple schemes to misappropriate hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign funds, federal funds, and charitable donations — including using the stolen funds to repay an illegal $1 million loan to his failed 2007 Philadelphia mayoral campaign.

🚨HIGH RISKcriminal

In June 2016, a federal jury convicted Fattah on all 23 counts of the superseding indictment: racketeering conspiracy, money laundering, bank fraud, mail fraud, and filing false statements. He was sentenced December 12, 2016 to 10 years in federal prison and ordered to resign his House seat immediately upon conviction.
